And we're open for business!

The flags are flying,  the sun is shining and the Redoubt Fortress is open for 2016!

After 4 months of hard work behind the scenes in freezing conditions the Redoubt is now open for business.

We have a new-look shop...

The Outpost café has had a lick of paint, a lot of varnish and some new pictures from Heritage Eastbourne's photographic collection hung on the walls!

We have three new temporary exhibitions inside, including 'Hearth Home and Honour?'. This exhibition tells the personal stories of soldiers of the Royal Sussex Regiment who fought at the Battle of Boars Head during the First World War.

For Hearth, Home and Honour?
There is also a small display about The Battle of the Somme to mark its centenary.

In Casemate 11 we have a temporary exhibition by the Maritime Archaeological Trust, 'Forgotten Wrecks' that focuses on shipwrecks from the First World War.
